Government Departments

The Englewood Municipal Court has jurisdiction over all traffic matters that occur within the boundary of the City of Englewood, as well as all disorderly persons offenses and City ordinance violations.

The Tax Assessor’s function involves the discovery and listing of all real property within the City of Englewood; the determination and taxability and assessment, the listing of all properties on the Real Property Tax List, the Exempt Property List and the Added and Omitted Assessment Lists.

The City Council consists of five members, each elected for a three-year term. Four are elected by the individual wards in which they live and the other is elected by a city-wide vote as an at-large member. The city is divided into four wards which are approximately equal in population.

The Englewood Health Department is a local public health agency with a comprehensive array of public health prevention, promotion, and protection services and programs serving 27,147 residents (2010 census data) in the City of Englewood, New Jersey.

Michael Wildes was elected in November of 2018. He is the managing partner with the leading immigration law firm of Wildes and Weinberg, P.C.

The Englewood Police Department is located at 75 South Van Brunt Street, approximately 1/2 mile north of Route 4. Englewood is served by a full-time professionally trained police department consisting of 79 sworn Police Officers, 6 civilian dispatchers.

Tax payments are due February 1, May 1, August 1, and November 1 of each year. There is a 10-calendar day grace period each quarter, however it is important to note that interest accrues from the original due date for any payments received after the 10-calendar day grace period.
